Everyone knows the struggle of when you need to look 'nice' for a day with your grandparents or when you are going out to a fancy brunch with the family, but you never know what to wear to still look fashionable. I have put a chic twist on the classic "country club casual" outfit.
These amazing pants are from Ann Taylor Loft (and are currently on sale!) They are perfect for a day like this - paired with a plain t-shirt and fun accessories to dress it up. I wear these pants to work with a button down white shirt to dress them up a little more. The print reminds me of the crazy prints golfers wear, making them perfect for a day at your grandparents country club, but they are chic and pretty enough to be worn for a fun and cute outfit. I couldn't decide whether or not the color surrounding the pink and white dots was black or dark blue, so I decided to bring both black and brown into the outfit. I know we've always been told never to wear black and brown together, but I think that if you do it right, you can definitely mix these two colors.
This super comfortable white t-shirt is the Nordstrom brand BP. (which stands for Brass Plum if you were wondering) and is actually 2 for $28! The lightweight material is perfect for hot Florida summers and its so easy to pair with almost any outfit.
This black Tory Burch purse is one of the most amazing bags ever. The inside can fit everything with its many different pockets and zippered sections, but the purse itself is not too big and bulky. The corners have magnets in it so you can keep the bag closed, but if you need to make it a little bit larger to make sure you fit everything, you can. The front and back of the bag are leather but the sides are canvas so you can extend it depending on whether you want to use the magnets to keep it shut or not. And finally, the purse is just so beautiful and classy looking with the geometric lines and black leather.
Mens shoes can be just as cute for women! These absolutely amazing brown Sam Edelman menswear shoes (similar here and here) bring a chic twist to the outfit. The menswear style is becoming more and more prominent, and instead of wearing a full on suit, starting off with just shoes can make it easy to step into this style. As I said before, pairing the brown shoes with the black bag can seem tricky but because both of them match the pants they won't clash! The dark soles of the shoes also make it easier to pair brown and black together.
Instead of wearing a statement necklace to pop against my plain white t-shirt, I decided to wear a statement headband! I've become obsessed with these headbands, especially on days when you don't feel like doing your hair. This amazing Charming Charlie headband is so cute with the light colored rhinestones. I also have this headband in black, but Charming Charlie has these headbands in so many different colors and patterns you can find one to go with any outfit!
This Michele watch (similar) is so perfect for an outfit like this. The gold head is classy and beautiful, but the white rubber band is chic and fun for a nice summer day.
The final touch to a perfect chic summer outfit is an oversized pair of sunglasses. I am actually obsessed with these Tory Burch Cat-Eye Sunglasses. The brown glasses go with pretty much everything and the oversized cat-eye makes me feel like Kourtney Kardashian.
