Surviving the Heat

Summer has eliminated so much of my wardrobe. Aside from spending most of my time at the pool or the beach, I have to occasionally join the rest of society in everyday activities. This means I need to put my hair in a pony tail and find a way to stay cool in 90 degree weather.

Sleeves are the enemy. Choose a top that gives you room to breathe. If you do this, the color of the top won't have as much of an impact on any sweating problems that may occur.

This slim cropped halter from Hollister is a perfect top for the summer time. It comes in four different colors and has beautiful ribbing. I love this style for the warmer months because it has a built in shelf bra and has a lower cut back which allows your skin to breathe.

I prefer loose fitting shorts during this time of year. They allow air to pass through your body and make walking for long periods much less of a nightmare. Jean fabric often times rubs against itself becoming uncomfortable. Check out these high rise flower shorts from Pac Sun (similar here).

The fewer accessories the better. I wore this simple bracelet from Ann Taylor Loft (similar here).

While I love purses, sometimes it is easier to carry a small wristlet that can hold the essentials like this one from Lilly Pulitzer.

When wearing flats, find ones that have an elastic so they form to your feet. It gives more room for air and won't cause blisters on your heel. These nude flats are from Payless (similar here).
