New York

For my last adventure of summer, I traveled to NYC to visit family. My father grew up in New York, so every year I get to visit my aunt. My sister, who recently graduated college, and lives in LA got to take off work for a few days and met me there.

I will be doing separate blog posts on these individual outfits, but I wanted to show the difference between an evening show and matinee show. The white dress I am wearing from White House Black market hits mid-calf and is perfect for a 7 pm Broadway show. I saw Hello Dolly with Bette Midler. She was phenomenal, and the whole show was hilarious. On Sunday, I met up with my friend Hope and saw Anastasia. I wore a simple button-down dress from Zara. These dresses are all over the city. I recommend investing in this trend because it is also extremely comfortable.

The day my sister met me, we watched Broadway in Bryant Park. This is a great way to get a taste of Broadway without spending a dime. The Broadway performers sing a few songs from each of their shows in the hope that it will entice you to come see their show. I love getting to see bits of shows every year. I wore a simple black tank top from Brandy Melville (similar here) and a green pencil skirt from Charlotte Russe (similar here.) This was the one day that was fairly hot in New York so this outfit was perfect for walking around the city.

I visited the Botanical gardens and wore the outfit from my blog Island Look or London Look on this warm and sunny day. It was perfect for the weather, and the palm trees on my shirt were fitting for the plant based exhibit. I have more full outfits coming from New York, so stay tuned!
