Game Day
We are in the midst of college football season. If you remember, my first blog post was a game day post over a year and a half ago. Game days are tricky when it comes to fashion though, and styles change yearly. The key is to stay cool and avoid wearing clothes that show sweat for Florida football. While cheer skirts, cut out t-shirts, and homemade tube tops are all the rage this year, bandeaus are also in style.
I wore this orange polka dot bandeau from PINK (aviailable here) on Saturday. I like this trend for a few reasons. The first is that I can wear it in the heat. I avoid sleeves at all costs. I think that there is a right way to wear this trend, and game day might be one of the few appropriate places for it. If you want to wear a bandeau as a top, remember to pair it with something that will compliment it. Orange is one of my least favorite colors unfortunately, but it was popular this summer, so I hopped on the trend.
Wearing a short or cropped top means that it should be paired with something high waist. The shorts I am wearing from Zara (similar here) have an extremely high waist line. I love these shorts because they balance out the outfit as a much more conservative component. The tie on the side adds something extra to the bottoms, and the pleated flair at the top reminds me of a 60’s style.
I wore my hair in a high pony tail so that it wouldn’t poof out by the end of the day. In addition, I wore m Kate Spade earrings that I have featured in multiple blogs. I normally don’t wear a lot of jewelry, but wearing my hair up accentuates my face and earring do this as well.
Lastly, I wore these braided black sandals. I love white converse with these kinds of outfits, but there is too much risk of getting them dirty. Sandals are comfortable for walking around campus.
