University of Florida Retail Society
RETAIL SOCIETY'S FIRST MEETING OF THE SEMESTER IS TUESDAY, JANUARY 23RD
You probably read in Julia's Back to School post last week that our spring semester has officially begun! It is great to be back on campus and to see all of my friends that I missed while I was home for break. Being back on campus means starting classes, but more importantly it means getting back involved with the Retail Society!
The Retail Society Executive Board: Brenna Mckeown, Hannah Harwood, Emily Croslin, Julia Renner, Katie Wray, Delaney Koponen
The Retail Society is an on-campus organization that brings in guest speakers from a variety of retailers to discuss their jobs and internship programs with the organization. The society is also an outlet for anyone interested in going through the job or internship search, providing students with information to help them to be successful. I have loved every second of being a part of this organization, and all of the friends I have made!
Many of you guys probably know that I am interested in entering the retail field as a buyer once I graduate college. The Retail Society has helped me understand the different types of jobs available in the retail industry, as well as the companies that are successful during this retail-pocalypse. This summer I will be interning with Ross Stores, Inc. as an Assistant Buying Intern! Without the Retail Society I would not have found this amazing internship, or have been accepted!
If you are interested in entering the retail industry make sure to join the Retail Society this semester! Our first meeting is Tuesday, January 23rd from 6:00-7:00 PM in Heavener 210!
For our executive board photo shoot we decided to go with Fall muted tones. I am wearing this Lush blouse from Nordstrom! I love the dark blue color, and lightweight material. I added this black and white blazer style jacket I got from the Express Outlet last year (similar here and here). I love that this jacket can make any outfit look more professional. I also wore this beautiful rose gold Kendra Scott double ring that I received for free when a Kendra Scott employee came to speak at one of our Retail Society meetings last semester! (She brought 30 free pieces of jewelry for our members!!!)
I wanted to keep this outfit mainly black and white to make my blue blouse stand out, so I wore my Topshop Black Jamie Jeans. I also wore my black and white Kate Spade sandals but unfortunately they are sold out, so I found some similar options here and here!
