La Chua Trail
Sometimes in Gainesville, it seems like there isn't much to do outside of the University. Everything surrounds the University of Florida from the Football games to the on campus events each week. However, you can take a peak at nature and take a walk on the La Chua trail just a few miles down the road.
While some of the trail is closed due to flooding from the hurricane, you can still enjoy a walk along the boardwalk. On this day, the weather was slightly colder, and the sun was setting when I went. I wore Marissa's burgundy leather jacket from Zara (similar here.) This jacket was her staple piece when we studied abroad, and she even let me wear it a few times during our trip. Sharing a hotel or dorm room for a month can get cramped, but at least you have access to more clothes!
I love the color of the jacket because it makes it less intense than a black leather jacket, which can sometimes look too bold. This piece has zippers and pockets that make it busier. The fit is perfect because it isn't too stiff.
I wore this loose fitting pleated dress from Altar'd State (similar here.) I am a sucker for flowy dresses because they are comfortable and stylish. Sometimes these dresses make you lose your figure because they don't hug your body, but adding a fitted jacket to it helps pull the dress in. I paired it with a lace brallete that peaks out at the top. The dress is great for warmer weather too if worn alone with sandals.
I have posted about my gold bangles that were my grandmother's before. I love this simple jewelry, and I think the gold accents the color of the jacket really well. Since the jacket already creates a heavier look, I decided to steer away from any necklaces. If I wore this dress by itself, a long necklace would pair nicely with it.
Lastly, my shoes are Marissa's as well. She bought these while we were in Mykonos, Greece. We were walking through the chora which was created like a labyrinth when the shoes that Marissa had just bought and put on broke. Marissa had to walk around barefoot, unable to find the boutique because of the maze-style setup. It was quite a scene, but we eventually found the boutique. Marissa picked out these shoes, and they have held up since then.
