Vacation Apparel - Spring Break

This last week was my school's spring break which means that about 50,000 students left the city of Gainesville for the beach, the Bahamas, and in some cases their backyards. While some students opted to go to the cold weather, spring break is known for being the time to be in the Sun and get a tan. If you are looking for a great spring break or beachy outfit, this one is for you.

I bought this crop top at a trunk sale hosted at my sorority from Lagos Bikinis (similar here) from Urban Outfitters. This thin material striped crop is a statement piece that is perfect for the beach. It's off the shoulder look and navy blue stripes screams "vacation." You may remember from my "Not So Tacky Tourist" post, You can easily rock a vacation vibe without looking like a tourist stereotype. Hawaiian shirts are out. This top is tiny, so it is best warn with extremely high waist bottoms. Even though the sizes are small, it has great stretch in the fabric to fit different body types.

I've brought back my summer skirt from Brandy Melville. This denim skirt is unique because it flares our rather than creating an A line (similar here.) I like the light wash of the skirt and the high waist. This combination creates a great figure, and it works best with crop tops.

The skirt buttons down the front, and each button says Brandy Melville on it. It is a stiff material, but that makes it easier to not get wrinkled. Brandy Melville only sells in one size, so stores like Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters would have similar styles in more sizes.

Flip-Flops are great shoes for the beach. I wore these Tory Burch sandals (available here.) The navy blue accents with a colorful printed bottom work perfectly with the navy blue stripes on my top. These shoes are foam, so they won't get ruined in the sand. In my last tourism blog post, I wore high-top converse, but those are best for walking the concrete cities, not the sand.
