Orange and Blue Game

I am so excited to announce that game days are back, (well only one.) This Saturday UF will host its annual orange and blue game. This is my favorite game of the year for two reasons. 1. The gators always win. 2. My roommate Emily and I have made this game our tradition, so this will be our third annual celebration. In celebration of the best day of the year, I am bringing to you my favorite kind of post, a game day outfit. However, this outfit I have worn out with friends. So while I might be posting for the sake of the Gators, this look is definitely versatile for different occasions.

This two piece look makes a perfect staple, and it can be worn together or separately. The top has a high neckline with a unique crisscross back. It is form-fitting, but the band in the back is elastic allowing for some stretch, and it buttons at the base of the neck. The bright blue color pops against the white background. I love this bold pattern. The only aspect I don’t like about this style of top is that it is very easy to look bulky if you are more muscular in your back and arms, but embracing a muscular look is not the worst thing in the world

The bottom half of this is actually a pair of shorts! They are loose fitting shorts made to look like a skirt which brings all the fun and flattering elements into the most comfortable bottoms. I like that that they are extremely high waisted and flare out. The bottom of the shorts creates a V so the sides are shorter than the front/back. These kinds of shorts are much more breathable than jean material and less restrictive than a lot of popular styles of skirts.

For jewelry, I went simple with this delicate bracelet my aunt gave to me passed down from my grandmother. The small stones and thin chain make it a great accent to a busy outfit.

My brown wooden-style shoes are great because they are nicer than a sandal, but less dressy than a heel. The shades of brown contrast well against the vibrant outfit, and I think the brown looks better than a black sandal. I wore this outfit with nude wedges once to dress it up, but I would still prefer these shoes. They have matte gold studs on them that go well with the gold bracelet above. Depending on how much walking you plan on doing, these shoes might not be the most comfortable option, but I am a firm believer in fashion over function.

Thank you to Bria Horn for the Photography skills and location. ;)
