San Diego Travel Guide Pt. 1

My sister and I drove from LA to San Diego to meet my mom for a weekend getaway. On the way there we stopped at Vista Point Oceanside. We were lucky because the sun was setting just as we arrived at the location. This is a great way to separate a long drive and make it feel shorter. My favorite thing to do is sit and watch the sunset or sunrise, and this view took my breath away.

I wore this striped red and white romper that I purchased in Paris on study abroad from Zara (similar here.) In the valley it was perfect for the weather, but I was a little bit chilly once the sun went down. This romper has a cute cut-out in the center and ties at the top making it the perfect statement look. You might remember it from my 4th of July post last year. This outfit is actually one of my most comfortable pieces of clothing, and I paired it with my white Tommy Hilfiger shoes that have been featured on my blogs before.

The next day we visited the Gaslamp Quarter and ate lunch at a restaurant called the Volcano Rabbit. There are adorable shops throughout this area. In fact, my mom and I bought matching pants at a boutique. At the ed of the district you can visit a navy ship and take a picture in front of a giant statue of the famous couple kissing goodbye because of the war (The same one as in NYC.) Fleming's is a restaurant that is actually in my hometown of Winter Park too. It is a delicious steakhouse, but I am biased because my middle name is Fleming. This day was actually pretty warm, but I wore black high waisted jeans and a colorful 3-quarter length top. My sister let me borrow her funky blue glasses from a boutique in Winter Park called, "The Label."

Lastly, that night we drove to La Jolla California for dinner and the Sunset. While on vacation we wanted to play everything by ear, but that backfired for our dinner plans. La Jolla has the most beautiful views of the ocean during sunset that draws crowds to come to some of the nicest restaurants known for seafood. We ended up waiting over an hour for a table, long after the sun had set. It was still a lovely evening, and we ended up going back to La Jolla the next day (blog to come on that part of the trip.)
