San Diego Part 2 - The Zoo and La Jolla

On this day, my family and I headed over to the San Diego Zoo to check out the tigers and elephants. Later in the evening we went back to La Jolla because I needed to watch the sunset. In the first picture, I am wearing my San Diego Zoo sweatshirt that I bought that day. The reason this sweatshirt is so cool is because I had one when I was just a toddler from the last time I visited the zoo. We went to the gift shop and the design was the exact same (my mom is finding pictures of my as a child in it, don’t worry.) Naturally this meant that I needed to get a sweatshirt.

My actual outfit of the day was a red crop top from Forever 21 (available here) and a simple ripped jean skirt I bought from a girl in my sorority (similar here.) This style of top is beyond popular right now. It scrunches and exposes the shoulders. Forever 21 sells many variations and colors of it, but other stores carry it too. I’m not sure how long this style will stay trendy, but I am enjoying it while I can. I also borrowed my sister’s HUGE gradient sunglasses from Forever 21 similar here. (Forever 21 should really sponsor me.) I love big sunglasses because I think my face looks absolutely ridiculous in sunglasses, so I might as well find the largest ones possible. Feel free to question my logic.

Later in the evening I made my very tired family head back to La Jolla for the sunset. I am a sunset/sunrise enthusiast. I could write for days about how breathtaking it is to sit for 10 minutes and watch the whole sky change before your eyes. It is actually incredible. By the water it was a bit chillier than during the day at the zoo, so I switched into this long-sleeved gray crop top similar here.

After the sunset, we headed to an Irish pub for dinner. It was Cinco De Mayo, but the Mexican restaurant was too full. We embraced our own heritage that day. I brought my new sweatshirt for added warmth.

I am so glad I got to spend some time with my mom before my internships and summer class started. My mom left to go back to Florida the next day, and then my sister and I headed back to LA for some fun sister time. Stay tuned!
