Theatre in London

While I was in London, I got to see two shows. The first was Mama Mia, and our entire study abroad group went to see it. For some, it was a great introduction to theatre and an overall fun show. This musical is cheesy but definitely entertaining. While Mama Mia isn't my favorite show, it became the staple of our trip because we saw it just after arriving from Greece. In fact, my friends and I even did a Mama Mia pajama party in Greece to gear up for the show.

Before the show we went to Primrose bakery, where they sold fresh cupcakes with many different flavors. I opted for a mini cupcake because I also wanted to buy a Diet Coke. This night I wore the black velvet dress from my blog post Little Black Dress from American Apparel. I paired it with square shaped earrings from Charming Charlie (similar here.) A simple dress is perfect for a night of theatre.

The second show we saw was Book of Mormon, and it was hilarious. I laughed the entire show and would see it again in a heartbeat. After, my friends and I met some of the cast and went out for Mexican food. The theatre in London was extremely affordable, making the exposure to the arts easily accessible. If I was there longer, I would have seen a third show. Book of Mormon was high energy and had phenomenal dances and singing.

We went to the Matinee show, so I wore something more casual, an orange off the should top from Zara and a black Corduroy skirt. I will be doing a blog post with this top at a later date. Lucky for us, one of the cast members (the woman in the black outfit and sneakers) was kind enough to take a picture with us after the show.
